About

About the artist

Hi, I'm Jessica! I am a Korean-American hobbyist potter based in Chicago. I love experimenting with shapes and glazes, and am inspired by nature and elements of my Korean culture. In a world so focused on manufactured perfection and AI, I find beauty in the imperfection and variation of pieces made by hand. My Instagram is @clayandcatnaps, named after my favorite ways to destress. When I'm not napping with my two cats, Zuko and Aang, I create bowls, mugs, teacups, and jewelry/trinket trays through a combination of hand building and wheel throwing, and I am always looking for fun ways to elevate functional use.
